Under this scheme, eligible farmer families receive 6,000 every year, which is paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The money is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account to ensure transparency and reduce delays. So far, 21 installments have already been successfully released, helping crores of farmers across the country manage agricultural expenses such as seeds, fertilizers, and other farming needs.

eKYC Is Mandatory to Receive the Installment

One of the most important requirements for receiving the 22nd installment is completing the eKYC process. The PM Kisan portal clearly states that all registered farmers must complete eKYC. If the eKYC process is not completed, the installment amount may not be credited to the farmer’s account. There are two simple ways to complete eKYC. Farmers can visit the official PM Kisan website and complete OTP-based eKYC online, or they can visit the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) to complete biometric-based eKYC.

How to Check PM Kisan Beneficiary Status

Farmers can easily check the status of their 22nd installment online. First, visit the official website pmkisan.gov.in. On the homepage, go to the Farmers Corner” section and click on Know Your Status” or Beneficiary Status.” After that, enter your registration number or Aadhaar number and verify using OTP. Once the details are verified, the screen will show your installment history, eKYC status, and bank account details. This helps farmers confirm whether their payment is pending or already transferred.

Which Farmers May Not Receive the 22nd Installment

Although the PM Kisan scheme supports millions of farmers, some categories are not eligible. Farmers who pay income tax, families where a member holds a government job, or people receiving monthly pensions above ₹10,000 are generally excluded from the scheme. Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, and those who own institutional land holdings are also not eligible for benefits.

In addition, farmers who have not completed eKYC or whose documents contain incorrect details may also face delays in receiving payments. To avoid such problems, farmers should ensure that their Aadhaar, bank account number, and mobile number are correctly updated on the portal. For any issue related to eligibility or payments, farmers can also contact the official PM Kisan helpline.

Impact of PM Kisan Scheme on Farmers

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is considered one of the largest direct benefit transfer programs in the world. Nearly 85 percent of Indian farmers own less than two hectares of land, and for them this financial assistance works like a lifeline. The support they receive during crop seasons helps them purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs without depending too much on local moneylenders.
