PM Kisan 21st Installment 2026 : For millions of farmers across India, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has become an important source of financial help. Launched in 2019 by the Government of India, the scheme provides direct income support to small and marginal farmers. Under this program, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 every year. The amount is divided into three installments of ₹2,000 each and transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts, making it easier for them to manage farming expenses throughout the year.

21st Installment Released for Crores of Farmers

The PM Kisan 21st Installment was officially released on November 19, 2025, during a public event in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. During this payment cycle, the government transferred nearly ₹18,000 crore to around nine crore farmers across the country. The funds were sent directly through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, which helps ensure that money reaches farmers without unnecessary delays or middlemen. This installment followed the 20th payment that was released earlier on August 2, 2025, continuing the regular support farmers receive under the scheme.

Why Farmers Depend on This Financial Support

For many farmers, the PM-KISAN payment is not just a small amount of money—it plays a crucial role in managing everyday agricultural expenses. Farming requires constant investment in seeds, fertilizers, irrigation systems, and other inputs. The ₹2,000 installment often helps farmers purchase basic supplies during the cropping season. Even though the amount may seem modest, it provides timely support that can make a difference, especially for small farmers who rely heavily on seasonal income.

Who Is Eligible for the PM-KISAN Scheme

The scheme mainly targets small and marginal farmers who own cultivable land and depend on agriculture for their livelihood. However, not everyone qualifies for the program. Institutional landholders, certain higher-income professionals, and some government employees are not eligible to receive benefits under the scheme. To ensure that only genuine farmers receive the payments, the government has introduced strict verification processes and data checks through state government land record systems.

Important Requirements Farmers Must Complete

To continue receiving installments, farmers must complete a few important steps. One of the key requirements is Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification. Farmers also need to make sure their Aadhaar number is correctly linked with their bank account. In addition, land records must be verified through the respective state government databases. If any of these details are missing or incorrect, farmers may experience delays or may not receive their installment on time.

How Farmers Can Check Their Payment Status

Farmers who want to confirm whether they have received the PM Kisan 21st Installment can easily check their status online. The official PM-KISAN portal offers a simple process. Farmers need to visit the website and go to the “Farmers Corner” section, where they can select the “Know Your Status” option. By entering their registration number, Aadhaar number, or bank account details, they can quickly view their installment history and payment updates. The portal also provides a helpful Kisan eMitra chatbot that answers common questions about registration, eligibility, and payment issues.

Recent Installment Details and Upcoming Payment

Recent installment releases show how large the scheme has become. The 20th installment, released on August 2, 2025, credited ₹2,000 each to about 9.7 crore farmers, with a total transfer of roughly ₹20,500 crore. The 21st installment followed on November 19, 2025, reaching nearly nine crore farmers with around ₹18,000 crore distributed. Now, as of early 2026, farmers are looking forward to the next payment cycle. The 22nd installment is expected to be released around March 13, 2026, from Guwahati, Assam, potentially benefiting more than nine crore farmers once again.

How the Scheme Strengthens Rural India

Since its launch, the PM-KISAN scheme has become one of the largest farmer income support programs in the country. According to government estimates, more than ₹4 lakh crore has already been transferred to over 11 crore farming families. This consistent financial support helps farmers manage agricultural expenses and provides some stability during uncertain crop seasons. By using the DBT system, the government also ensures transparency and quick delivery of funds, reducing the chances of corruption or delays.
